The Department of Public Advocacy believes that in order to ensure client-centered representation, all employees must be given strong educational support from the Education and Strategic Planning Branch. This educational support allows employees to master advocacy skills and stay up to date on changes in the law, while also maintaining their heavy caseloads.
The following educational opportunities are available to DPA employees:
- In-Person Educational Opportunities that are offered throughout the calendar year
- Online Education through the DPA maintained training and motion bank called The Trumpet
- The Advocate provides law updates to DPA employees, members of the legislature, the press, prosecutors and judges.
- DPA Courtroom Manual Series provides up to date and hands-on materials to assist in client representation from arrest to trial
